A birthday cake

Marshmallow glorious Marshmallow!

What better way to celebrate a birthday with a sumptuous amounts of marshmallow smothered over a rich chocolate brownie base with a secret mint glaze soaked in the middle.
Kitchen Kitty had much fun licking the left over marshmallow out of the bowl and from her little paws!

Get well Gateau!

Get Well Gateau.

I recently had a cream pouring party and had a surplus of leftovers so I decided to bake a cherry gateau.
The sponge batter mix had the added ingredient - buttermilk which gave the sponge a lovely chewy but light and fluffy texture.
I topped the cake with a mixture of melted dark chocolate and double cream. It didn't really need it to be honest but it gives the cake a certain sex appeal I think. Not that I make love to my cakes! tut.

Get Berry Well Cake

GET BERRY WELL Superfood Cake

Two words - FOOD THESAURUS! The flavour combo - Vanilla and blueberries with a cream cheese frosting and decorated with cornflowers.
This cake was a show stopper. Lovely and light and makes you feel good what with all the superfood blueberries and that.

Nanny's Torte

Nanny's Torte

New cake books adorn my shelf and Kitchen Kitty loves to try new recipes to improve her baking knowledge.
This beast of a cake is a chocolate brownie and peanut butter fudge cake with a Sacher glaze and decorated with roasted peanuts!
YUMMMMM!
It took me a long time to make this cake but it was very satisfying when I finally finished it and could eat it!
The recipe was from a book called 'Sugarbaby' by Gesine Bullock Prado - yes, Sandra Bullock has a sister!
It's a kittyliscious book with lots of recipes and tips on how to work with sugar.
You can buy it from all good book stores - http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/book/9781584798972?redirected=true&gclid=COba5s7jzLcCFXMPtAoddhYAtg

I made this cake for my feline friend who us unwell and in need of lots of TLC.... and cake!

Victorian Mohito pie

MMMM! It's pie time and what could be better than a tasty combination of gin, lime and mint to make a Victorian Mohito Meringue Pie.

To make this I simply made a plain pastry case a gin and lime curd and topped it with a mint flavoured meringue.
Kitchen Kitty and her friends were very happy after eating this cocktail cake combo.
We sang songs and played chess with the sugar bowls...

Creme de Menthe Lollipops.

Keeping it fresh with Minty boozy lollipops.

I mixed in a whole lotta creme de menthe for these two sunday party poppers.

I'm so pleased that I managed to hold the shape, so they look neater and are slightly easier to eat!

For the photo's I used my favourite mint plant to show off these baby's. The colour is great too.

Lolliproops for the Vodkast!

Hey, my kitty kitchen was steaming the windows with Hot Sugar in the pan tonight.

In honour of Kittens Mctavish I decided to make me my first ever batch of lollipops! They are flavoured with strawberry and vodka then later decorated with edible glitter.
These shapes I made are just dandy I think. Purr.
Though I plan to get much better at these in time for the Greg Proops 'smartest man in the world' Vodcast.http://www.gregproops.com/blog/smartest-man-in-the-world-podcast/ - See you in Soho London, Kittens and Greg x
